Information We Collect
Writing Samples You Upload
When you use Author's Voice, we collect the writing samples you provide. This includes:
Documents imported from Google Drive or Notion
Content uploaded via URL, markdown, or API
Text submitted for voice analysis or rewriting
Voice Profile Data
To provide personalized AI writing that sounds like you, we analyze your writing style to create a voice profile. This includes:
Writing patterns and sentence structures
Preferred vocabulary and phrasing
Style constraints and preferences
Sentence rhythm and cadence
Important: We never use your content to train AI models. Your voice profile is created
from style analysis only and is used exclusively to match your writing voice when generating or rewriting content.
Account Information
We collect basic account information including:
Email address and authentication details (via Clerk)
API key usage and billing records
OAuth connection tokens (encrypted) for Google Drive and Notion
How We Use Your Information
Core Service Delivery
Your information is used solely to provide Author's Voice core functionality:
Build and maintain your voice profile from uploaded writing samples
Retrieve relevant writing samples for voice-matched rewriting
Generate or rewrite content in your authentic voice
Track usage for billing purposes
Ensure secure access and tenant data isolation
Service Improvement
We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our service, but this never includes
your personal content or writing samples.
Data Storage and Security
Content Storage
Your writing samples and data are stored securely with the following protections:
End-to-end encryption for all data in transit (HTTPS)
Secure cloud storage on Cloudflare Workers and Neon PostgreSQL
Tenant isolation ensuring complete data separation between users
OAuth tokens encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage
Tenant Isolation
Each user's data is completely isolated by tenant ID across all API, data, and storage layers.
Your content cannot be accessed by other users.
AI Providers and Data Sharing
Author's Voice uses Anthropic's Claude to deliver voice-matched writing. When you use AI features:
Your content and relevant writing samples are sent to Anthropic for processing
Anthropic is contractually bound to not store or use your content for training
Your voice profile is included to ensure personalized results
No content is retained by AI providers after processing
Data Retention and Deletion
You have full control over your data:
Writing samples are retained until you delete them via the API or dashboard
You can delete individual content items or your entire voice profile at any time
Voice profiles are deleted when you delete your account
Account deletion removes all associated data permanently
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
Access all your stored content and data via the API
Correct or update your information
Delete your account and all associated data
Disconnect third-party services (Google Drive, Notion) at any time
Opt out of non-essential communications
Children's Privacy
Author's Voice is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information,
please contact us immediately.
